Why We Don't Say What We Want”

Have you ever noticed that sometimes we hold ourselves back from expressing what we truly want in life? It's like a little voice telling us to keep quiet, not to make waves, or to settle for less than we deserve. This behavior can have a profound impact on our overall wellness and happiness.
In many cases, this behavior's root is a fear of rejection or failure. We worry that if we speak up and ask for what we want, we'll be met with resistance or disappointment. But the truth is, holding back our desires can lead to frustration, resentment, and even physical health problems.
That's where mindfulness and surrendering to our hearts come in. By practicing surrendering, mindfulness, and connecting with our inner selves, we can identify and overcome the limiting beliefs that hold us back from expressing our true desires. By incorporating meditation, journaling, and surrender into our daily routines, we can cultivate peace and clarity that allows us to communicate our needs and wants confidently and authentically. Regular yoga practice can also help us tune into our hearts. It encourages us to become more aware of our bodies and our breath. This increased awareness helps us tune in to our inner voice and connect with our hearts.
Here are three ways to express what we want effectively:
1. Be clear and specific: When communicating what we want, it's essential to be clear about the desired outcome. Use direct language to express what you want as precisely as possible.
2. Use "I" statements: Instead of using accusatory language or sounding demanding, use "I" statements when expressing your wants, for example, say "I would like" rather than "You need to."
3. Use positive language: When possible, frame your wants in positive language. For instance, instead of saying what you don't want, state what you do want. But, often, we are still determining what we want, and it's easier to express what we don't want.
Being on the Spiritually S.M.A.R.T.E.R.™ path allows me to tap into my heart, find my truths and wants, build the courage to share them clearly and lovingly, and create magnificence in my life.
When we express ourselves from the heart, it is always for our highest good and the good of those around us.
